Travel 

Lancaster is approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes by train from Manchester Airport.

Car parking on campus – there is a fee of £4 or £6 per day depending where you park, please see Maps and travel – Lancaster University for further information.   

Accommodation 

Many of you are staying in student accommodation near Barkers, Alexandra Park Barker House Farm, BHF, Lancaster University campus – MazeMap.   

Others are staying in Guest Rooms in John Creed Buildings County John Creed – Beatrix, County John Creed, Salter, Lancaster University campus – MazeMap 

For those who arrive on 2nd September, you can collect room keys from the conference staff at registration in George Fox. If you arrive before 2nd, please follow the instructions you receive from the conference office.  

Meals 

Please email BACS2026@lancaster.ac.uk if you have dietary requirements you haven’t already told us about. These will be catered for.  

Meals that will be offered by the conference 

  • 2 September – Welcome reception – Pizza 
  • 3 September – Guan Zi Chinese food 
  • 4 September – Hot Lunch – Salmon

  • ‘Marketplace’ for breakfast for those who are staying in John Creed Building.  
  • ‘Barkers’ for breakfast for those who are staying in Alexandra Park.  
  • ‘Lancaster House Hotel’ (restaurant and bar menus)

  • The Spar supermarket (5 minutes walk from John Creed)

  • Coffee: Coastal, Costa and Deli around the central Alex Square, and Starbucks (in Barkers).

Emergency 

Dial 999 

Once the Emergency has been logged with emergency services, call the Security team (available 24 hours a day) on  +44 (0)1524 594541 and tell them you have logged an emergency call. They will direct the emergency services to you.

For less urgent emergencies, please contact the conference team (bacs2026@lancaster.ac.uk or at the conference venue).
