Synthetic Landscapes is a sound design piece aiming to blur the lines between computer-generated and acoustically recorded sounds. Every noise in this piece was created using digital sound synthesis and is meant to evoke organic sounds – humming, voices, water, rain, fluids, metal. “Synthetic Landscapes” crosses and challenges the boundaries between natural and digital, reflecting our current state of reality, fragmented by the digital media. It also questions our connectedness to nature in the face of our increasing terraforming activity on Earth. “Synthetic Landscapes” is a soundtrack to the global environmental changes happening all over the world.
