Planetary health is a solutions-oriented approach focused on tackling humanity’s actions that affect the natural systems, so that both people and planet can thrive. To advance humanity’s wellbeing, the declining state of planet Earth can no longer be ignored. Under this theme, we welcome submissions that address the topic (directly or indirectly) and bring awareness that can lead to further discussion and advocacy.
Given the current global condition, human beings often face and cross borders defined by geography, politics, ethnicity, religion, and gender, among others. Crossing borders may create minorities, often defined as such within a new context, due to the diaspora of communities. Cultural practices are maintained, hybridized, and discontinued when crossing borders. This theme seeks creative outputs that address borders and encounters with the ‘other’ or the ‘self’ as defined by these borders.
This theme focuses on untold stories that have shaped specific individuals, communities, or larger social movements. Hidden voices help us make connections to events that have shaped society and are often unheard and not included in historical accounts. We seek to bring to light unsung heroes, impactful stories, and contributions of underrepresented individuals and groups.
