Mah Meri Artisans / Samri the Carver

This work is a reimagined version of an established work of Samri the Mah Meri Carver. From a linear time-based work, the artwork will be re-produced for a medium of projection mapping and installation art. The artist explores narrative storytelling from the traditional linear content to a video installation combined with scenography. Bac in 2019 with conventional storytelling, the artist has produced a linear narrative in a 4 minutes video that viewers can sit and watch. In ArtBeats, the artist will explore reimagining that storytelling with the capability of using multiple objects/planes as a screen whereby the content will be projected on. Sound will also play a role in enhancing the experience of this video installation, supported with other elements of scenography such as lights and props.
