As a self-shooting filmmaker and film scholar, I have acquired a diverse educational background. I completed my PhD in Cinematic Arts at Ulster University in the United Kingdom, specializing in the intricate aspects of the medium. Prior to that, I obtained a Masters degree in Animation from Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) in Tehran, Iran, where I honed my skills in the art of animated storytelling. Additionally, I hold a BA in Textile and Fashion Design.

Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to exploring improvisational and innovative approaches to filmmaking and storytelling. My focus lies particularly in the realms of experimental films and animation. By drawing inspiration from these paradigms, my aim is to create immersive and transformative cinematic experiences that transcend conventional boundaries. Through my work, I strive to construct liminal spaces that invite viewers to engage with films in a more nuanced and creatively stimulating manner.

Dialogue

Synopsis:

“Dialogue” is a one-minute experimental short film that explores the powerful exchange of energies between two male and female characters in an unconventional and surreal setting which is originally in a form of video installation on projected on two opposite walls. The film takes p, where the characters sit facing each other. The fan, with its animated head, symbolizes an unseen force or a conduit of energy between the two sexes.

Throughout the film, the exchange of energy between the male and female characters intensifies. Their actions become more dynamic and synchronized, almost as if they are engaged in a dance of energy transfer. As the exchange of energy between the characters reaches its peak, something extraordinary happens. Clouds start to form in the space between them. These clouds are a representation of the abstract and intangible bond created through their interaction, signifying the culmination of their dialogue.

The clouds continue to grow and evolve as the characters maintain their connection. They seem to draw power from this ethereal manifestation and, in turn, feed it back into their exchange. The atmosphere becomes charged with emotion and intrigue, captivating the viewers in its enigmatic experience of love. Despite the brevity of the film, it leaves a lasting impact on the audience, inviting them to ponder the nature of connections and exchanges between individuals in the unseen realms of energy and emotion. “Dialogue” is a journey into the intricacies of human interaction, bringing attention to the beauty and complexity of relationships formed through non-verbal communication and shared energy.

Director’s statement:

In “Dialogue,” I sought to create an abstract and thought-provoking exploration of human connection, energy exchange, and the profound impact of non-verbal communication. The film delves into the realm of the surreal, using symbolism and metaphor to convey emotions and ideas beyond conventional language.

The concept for “Dialogue” was inspired by the fascinating complexity of human relationships during the pandemic. I wanted to capture the essence of how people interact and share energies without relying solely on words. Often, our most profound connections happen in these unspoken spaces, where emotions, intentions, and energies intertwine. As a director, I aimed to evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity, leaving room for interpretation and individual reflection. “Dialogue” is not meant to provide definitive answers but rather to spark contemplation about the unseen forces that shape our interactions and relationships.

I hope “Dialogue” resonates with the audience on an emotional and intellectual level, encouraging them to contemplate the intricate nature of human connections. My aspiration is for viewers to embrace the film as an invitation to explore the unspoken dialogues that define our lives and inspire a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.

Ultimately, “Dialogue” is an artistic exploration of the energy that binds us, the emotions that connect us, and the beauty of unspoken connections that transcend the limitations of language. I am grateful for the opportunity to present this experimental film and share its visual poetry with the world.
