2026 Commonwealth Fellows

We are delighted to welcome five outstanding Commonwealth Professional Fellows to Lancaster as they begin their six‑week Fellowship with the Centre for Global Eco‑Innovation.

This year’s cohort brings together exceptional leaders working across engineering, innovation, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and community transformation. We are honoured to host:

  • Olayinka Omowunmi Adewumi – University of Lagos, Nigeria
  • Eva Assiimwe – Kampala International University, Uganda
  • Mary Mwangi – Kenyatta University, Kenya
  • Frederick Otu‑Larbi – University of Energy and Natural Resources, Ghana
  • Nellie Longwe Kangwa – Project Life Design, Zambia

Over the coming weeks, the Fellows will take part in an intensive programme of workshops, mentoring, industry engagement and joint research development. Together, we will explore eco‑innovation, entrepreneurship, and new models for impactful university–industry collaboration.

This Fellowship is more than a professional development experience, it is a platform for building long‑term partnerships, accelerating innovation, and supporting leaders who are shaping sustainable futures across Africa.

We warmly welcome our Fellows to Lancaster and look forward to the insight, energy and global impact they will bring throughout their time with us and beyond.
