The Octurn: Comtemporary Art for Lancashire<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Octurn, derived from \u2018octo\u2019 (eight) and \u2018nocturnus\u2019 (of the night), is a new central hub of contemporary arts in the North West of England. Located in the newly renovated Lancaster Canal Quarter, the Octurn stands out on the canal, acting as a beacon at night for locals and tourists to see. Its statue as a modern design contrasts with the existing historical landmarks around the city, and provides a transition to the city\u2019s architectural vernacular by the Lancaster Canal.<\/span><\/p>\n

The octagonal design offers a unique external aesthetic, blending into the pedestrian path by the canal, and integrates an equally unique interior architectural experience, being taken through a combination of large exhibition halls, to intimate artist design rooms.<\/p>\n

The Octurn provides a new way to integrate world\u2011travelling exhibitions, with talented local artists, allowing for freedom of design for the art to speak for itself in its own bespoke hall.<\/p>\n
