The Incubator<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

My design aims to become a living part of the Canal Quarter\u2019s creative community. Rather than standing alone, it would work as a kind of \u201ccreative incubator\u201d\u2014a place where artists can experiment, make, and develop ideas. It\u2019s the gap left by existing venues by offering residents studios and open workshops, helping to form a full cycle of \u201cmaking \u2192 nurturing \u2192 showing\u201d alongside the neighbouring theatres.<\/p>\n

In spatial terms, a new public square acts as an \u201curban living room,\u201d a welcoming space that brings people together and links the area\u2019s different artistic destinations through simple, intuitive circulation.<\/p>\n

And on a narrative level, the project builds on the site\u2019s industrial and theatre heritage. By reinterpreting these stories, it extends the cultural timeline of the Canal Quarter\u2014connecting the \u201cpast\u201d embodied by the Grand Theatre, the \u201cpresent\u201d represented by The Dukes, and a shared vision of the \u201cfuture\u201d that this new building hopes to inspire.<\/p>\n
