Lancaster Adventure Hub
The Lake District is one of the UK’s most precious natural assets. Yet overtourism is driving out residents, inflating property prices, and straining insufficient infrastructure. This project responds to these challenges. An ‘Adventure Hub’ in Lancaster city centre will act a base for tourists and locals alike. Social hostel accommodation encourages connection; an outdoor climbing wall allows the opportunity to build skills; retail units equip adventurers; a coach departure point enables shared travel to the Lake District. A bar offers well-earned respite, while an outdoor stage brings year-round entertainment to a partially covered courtyard.
