She holds the Lecturer position at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/psychology\/\">Department of Psychology<\/a> and is affiliated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/psychology\/research\/early-development\/\">Developmental Psychology research group<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/infant-and-child-development-lab\/\">Infant and Child Development Lab<\/a> and its subunit, the <a href=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/babylab\/\">Babylab<\/a>. She completed her PhD at the University of Oslo, where she studied <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sv.uio.no\/psi\/english\/research\/projects\/aha-child\/\">children\u2019s sudden insight<\/a>. His PhD project is entitled, &#8220;The Emergence of Domain-Specific Implicit Mentalising&#8221;. Malcolm is a graduate of the LU holding a BSc and MSc Psychology degree. At ALL, he has been primarily involved in the caregiver curiosity in child development research project, which aims to understand infant caregivers&#8217; intrinsic motivation behind their participation in lab-based research and whether it affects their knowledge of infant development and further curiosity in this topic. Malcolm is also assisting with the curiosity in word learning project which uses a gaze-contingent eye-tracking paradigm. She is interested in how infants explore the world around them through play and what drives their curiosity. She is also interested in investigating how toys are designed and what makes a toy attractive to an infant. She completed a post-doctoral study in auditory neuroscience before moving into the field of children\u2019s language development. She is interested in fair and open science and research that aims to reduce the educational achievement gap between those from privileged backgrounds and those in less privileged circumstances. At ALL, they have been involved in multiple projects, including testing for a project relating to curiosity driven learning in infants. She is broadly interested in how infants and young children actively learn information from their environment and how they transmit information to others around them. In addition to her PhD studies, at ALL, Didar also worked on several other projects related to children-led information transmission. Her research interests include fundamental mechanisms of infant development such as active exploration, learning and individual characteristics. In addition to her PhD studies, at ALL, Elena also worked on several other projects related to curiosity and learning. She was involved in the Babylab through the Psychology Employability Programme (PEP) since her second year of her undergraduate degree. At ALL, she also worked as a research assistant on the Curiosity Battery project and conducted her MSc dissertation with school age children looking at a number of self-report, parent-report and behavioural measures of curiosity.
