Those five ways are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet\">\n<li>Be Aware<\/li>\n<li>Be Informed<\/li>\n<li>Be Connected<\/li>\n<li>Be Active<\/li>\n<li>Be Generous<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These steps are used by the Government and charities such as MIND, the NHS and universities, to provide information to help Staff manage and improve our wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>There is a dedicated\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/staff-wellbeing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LU Staff Wellbeing site<\/a>\u00a0with information on support services, Wellbeing activities and ideas and links to outside organisations. It includes information on Support for Students so that staff can easily find the information they need to support our students Wellbeing.<\/p>\n<h3>If you are struggling<\/h3>\n<p>All staff can access immediate emotional support over the phone from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/staff-wellbeing\/be-aware\/eap\/#d.en.440840\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Employee Assistance Programme<\/a>\u00a0(EAP). Your EAP includes a free-phone confidential and unlimited helpline service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You can also access the online element of the EAP, the\u00a0<a title=\"Wellbeing Portal page and password\" href=\"https:\/\/portal.lancaster.ac.uk\/intranet\/services\/people\/flexible-benefits\/wellbeing\/employee-assistance-programme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wellbeing Portal<\/a>, an online information and resource library.<\/p>\n<p>Reach out and talk to a colleague. This could be your line manager, mentor,\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:d.singleton@lancaster.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vicky Singleton<\/a>\u00a0(as EDI Director),\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:s.malik9@lancaster.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shehzad Malik<\/a>\u00a0(as the Departmental Mental Health and Wellbeing Ambassador) or just a trusted colleague.<\/p>\n<p>Staff can also access information on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/staff-wellbeing\/be-aware\/specialist-support\/#d.en.425425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Specialist Support<\/a>\u00a0page, and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/staff-wellbeing\/i-need-help-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I Need Help Now<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lancaster University has adopted the Five Ways to Wellbeing framework.
