One of the most recent is <a href=\"http:\/\/taking-liberties.com\">Taking Liberties<\/a>, funded by the Leverhulme Trust &#8211; a practice-based research project led by writer and academic Professor Graham Mort. He was based at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, from February to May 2018. The site contains a writers\u2019 gallery, featuring participants from the project; a gallery of photographic images capturing our activities and others on the UWC campus, as well as the text and recording of a performance poem built by workshop members.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier CTWR projects include:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wrapper\">\n<ul class=\"actions\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transculturalwriting.com\/radiophonics\/index.html\">Crossing Borders<\/a><br \/>\nLinking young writers in Africa with experienced mentors in the UK.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transculturalwriting.com\/radiophonics\/contents\/onlineworkshops\/index.html\">Radiophonics<\/a><br \/>\nStimulating new writing for English-language radio in Africa.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transculturalwriting.com\/LUFWP\/index.html\">Friends Writing Project<\/a><br \/>\nLinked twelve Ugandan women writers\u00a0with four UK mentors.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transculturalwriting.com\/movingmanchester\/index.htm\">Moving Manchester<\/a><br \/>\nHow migration impacted upon contemporary writing in Manchester<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transculturalwriting.com\/regarding_war\/about.html\">Regarding War<\/a><br \/>\nThe ways in which armed conflicts touch individuals and communities.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/kurdishwomenswords.world\">The Soran Project: Many Women Many Words<\/a><br \/>\n\u2018Many Women, Many Words\u2019 is a collaboration between writers and researchers at the Soran University in the Kurdistan region and Lancaster University in the UK.<\/li>\n<li><a style=\"font-size: 13px\" href=\"http:\/\/www.authorsandtheworld.com\">Authors and the World<\/a><br \/>\nAuthors and the World is an AHRC-funded collaboration between researchers in the departments of European Languages &amp; Culture, English &amp; Creative Writing, Linguistics, and History<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"one_half last_col\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since it was founded in 2006, the Centre for Transcultural Writing and Research has\u00a0raised the profile of a range of transcultural and intercultural research activities.
