Sustainability Physics: a website for teachers and students<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

(Funded by the Ogden Trust)<\/span><\/p>\n

Our aim is to show just how important physics is to a sustainable future, and how using physics can be key to the careers in a low-carbon economy.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Climate change offers many challenges to the world, and using STEM, very often physics, is at the heart of many low-carbon solutions. The people for whom this is most important are those in schools and colleges now; our aspiration is to help them become better equipped for this.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Website<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Each topic has interviews with people using physics in their research and careers at the forefront of a low carbon future. There are interactive questions to guide students through some of the advances being made – and maybe influence their own careers. <\/span><\/p>\n

There are 8 general themes:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Theme 4: Building Design<\/a><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Theme 5: Nanotechnology<\/a><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Theme 6: \u00a0Heat pumps\/ cooling \u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Theme 7: \u00a0Recycling household waste<\/a><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
