Conference going online
Not deterred by a countrywide lockdown, STARS will take to the internet for their conference this February. Plans are underway for an exciting day of soil science, conversation and social activities. We are looking forward to hearing from the STARS students about the progress in their research, which, despite the restrictions placed on us all, has been amazing. We are also particularly pleased to be hearing from some STARS alumni about life beyond their STARS PhD.
We are proud to welcome Professor Davey Jones of the University of Bangor and the University of Western Australia as our invited guest speaker, and very much look forward to hearing about his work.
An informal poster session will run alongside the main conference in which we hope to promote further discussion between delegates.
There will also be a photography competition, with prizes! We are seeking photos taken since January 2020, with subjects ranging from research projects to the local environment seen through “lock-down” eyes. All delegates will be welcome to contribute.
All these plus other social activities await. For more information see the conference page on the website or contact the stars office .
