Congratulations to Cohort 1 student, Paul George who’s first PhD paper is now published. The paper, “Evaluation of mesofauna communities as soil quality indicators in a national-level monitoring programme” is published in Soil Biology and Biochemistry. The research looked at mesofauna from soil cores collected throughout Wales as part of the nationwide soil monitoring programme. Links between mesofauna and soil types were investigated. The research concluding that the national-level soil survey can provide data on relationships between mesofauna populations and soil properties. Surveying mesofauna is recommended as a tool in conjunction with soil monitoring to provide a more complete picture of soil health.
See Paul’s web page for further information about his research.
