Its current activities include research on Shakespearean texts as part of early modern surfaces project and the performance, ceremony and ritual project, and work on Shakespeare\u2019s language via the Corpus Research in Early Modern English group. It also aims to foster links with Lancaster Castle, with theatres and schools (including a formal link with Solihull Sixth Form\u2019s \u2018Shakespeare Academy\u2019) and with members of the public.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/shakespeare\/files\/2013\/08\/Lancaster-Castle-courtyard.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left;margin-left: 10px;margin-right: 10px;border: 0\" src=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/shakespeare\/files\/2013\/08\/Lancaster-Castle-courtyard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"139\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a>Collaboration with the Castle and northern theatres began in 2012 as part of the British Shakespeare Association conference\u00a0<a title=\"2012\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/shakespeare\/events\/2012-2\/\">Shakespeare Inside Out: Depth \/ Surface \/ Meaning<\/a>, hosted by Lancaster University<\/p>\n<p>A follow up 2014\u00a0 <em>Lancaster Season of Shakespeare<\/em> including shows, films and events at the\u00a0Dukes Theatre, workshops for schools, and\u00a0productions of\u00a0Othelo, Taming of the Shrew and Rose Company&#8217;s all female Shakespeare <em>I Have a Speech of Fire <\/em>in Lancaster Castle. Full details and booking can be accessed from the menu at the top of this page.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/shakespeare\/files\/2013\/08\/bloody-crown.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;margin-left: 10px;margin-right: 10px;border: 0\" src=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/shakespeare\/files\/2013\/08\/bloody-crown.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"168\" height=\"146\" \/><\/a>Undergraduates and postgraduates studying in the Department are encouraged to engage with these events.
