Students in Miss J. Creaney\u2019s group compared the supernatural characters in the two plays.<i> <\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In contrast to the ghost in <i>Hamlet <\/i>who comes from underneath the stage, Wroth\u2019s powerful female deity and her son, Cupid, appear \u2018in the clowds,\u2019 indicating an upper stage position (as was conventional for the gods in early modern theatres).
