NVISION EYE CENTERS SUCCESSFULLY IMPLANTS ITS FIRST MINIATURE TELESCOPE

February 4th 2016

AMD Eye condition mostly affects people over 50 and leads to almost blindness. People become unable to identify faces and find it very difficult to perform every day normal tasks. This is a very common problem in people aged 50 and over and affects part of the retina. NVISION have performed surgery to replace the natural lens in the eye to redirect light onto a different part of the retina so the person can see better than before.

I think this is a great advancement in eye technology, not only for medicine, but also wearables and the internet of things. I belive this is good because people’s lives can be changed for the better when having this sensor implanted, making them happy, and also when in mass production, saving on financial costs of rehabilitation to being blind.
