AMD the oem are giving open access to their hardware allowing for better high performance computing enabling cheaper high performance applications. High performance applications can include Advanced Medical research or running very complex simulations.

What I like about this is that this research being done could potentially save lives and I do agree that it will enable access to cheaper high performance computing clusters as the GPUs from AMD are cheap and readily available at consumer stores.
