“On Tuesday 8th<\/sup> of Dh\u016b l-\u1e24ijja [330 H\/24 August 942 CE], an envoy of the lord (\u1e63\u0101\u1e25ib<\/i>) of the island of Sardinia (Sard\u0101niya<\/i>) arrived at the gate of al-N\u0101\u1e63r l-D\u012bn All\u0101h proposing peace (al-\u1e63ul\u1e25<\/i>) and friendship (al-ulfa<\/i>).
