Research<\/h1>\n

My PhD project is focused on the temperature response of Rubisco activase (Rca), the catalytic chaperone of the important photosynthesis-related enzyme Rubisco. Rca is a thermolabile protein which can limit rates of photosynthesis at higher temperatures. I aim to investigate the natural diversity of Rca in search of a more thermotolerant isoform which would have applications in climate resilience of crops. The project will focus mainly on Rca in cowpea, a major crop in Nigeria, and other members of the fabaceae family.<\/p>\n
