As of April 2020, we do not have any  planned events. This is due to the current restrictions and emergency situation. We will keep you updated in due time, and would love to see more activity around the Eco Hives.

EVENTS 2019

Friday 18th January 20194:30-6pm at the EcoHub barnBee chat social event. No need to book, just turn up: this is not a “task focussed” meeting.

Wednesday 13th February 20194:30-6pm at the EcoHub barnSoap making workshop. Booking essential! Please contact us by Monday 11th February 12pm, via our contact page. Registrations close on the Friday 8th February at 6pm.

Friday 8th March 2019, 3-5pm at the EcoHub barnBeesEd talk; “The Bees’ Needs“, by Julia Pigott, followed by refreshments. Booking recommended: please email n.mazza@lancaster.ac.uk.

Thursday 7th November 2019, 3-5pm at the Eco Hub Barn – LUBK Forum: “Integrated Weed Management” A public forum which focusses on chemical use at Lancaster University. This is meant to be an informative event and an open discussion for all the public (staff, students and local community). The objectives are
– to report on the current status of where chemicals are used, what type of chemicals, how often;
– to report on the future plans about herbicide/pesticide use;
– to get a report on the risks to humans, wildlife, vegetation and soil posed by these chemicals;
– to hear about possible alternatives, including cost and practicality;
– open questions from the audience.
