On Saturday 30th June 2018, we welcomed our third honeybee colony in the eco hives. They have been bought as a nuc from a local beekeeper in Bolton-le-Sand who keeps his bees on “deep hives”, also known as 14″ x 12″. So we installed them in a BS national hive, tempporarily modified into a 14″ x 12″. Depending on how fast the colony builds up (possibly next season), we’ll transfer them into a BS national like the other 2 hives.
