It moved to its present site in Castlefield in 1983. Housed in the buildings of the former Liverpool Road Station, the world&#8217;s oldest passenger railway station, and an adjacent Victorian market hall, the Museum currently comprises a number of\u00a0themed galleries.<\/p>\n<p>The galleries include the <a href=\"http:\/\/msimanchester.org.uk\/en\/whats-on\/gallery\/power-hall\">Power Hall<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/msimanchester.org.uk\/en\/whats-on\/gallery\/air-and-space\">Air and Space Hall<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/msimanchester.org.uk\/en\/schools\/gallery\/experiment\">Experiment! interactive\u00a0science gallery<\/a>,\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/msimanchester.org.uk\/en\/whats-on\/gallery\/underground-manchester\">Underground Manchester<\/a>, with its walk-through reconstruction of a Victorian sewer. The <a href=\"http:\/\/msimanchester.org.uk\/whats-on\/gallery\/textiles-gallery\">Textiles Gallery<\/a> features historic textile machines, textile artworks, and a range of other textile-related material.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/msimanchester.org.uk\/en\/whats-on\/activity\/collections-centre-study-area\">Collections Centre<\/a> provides access to the Museum&#8217;s reserve object collections, archive collections, and reference library.
