Come and learn about some of the amazing microscopic creatures that live in our oceans, then make a tiny booklet about them.\u00a0\u00a0 Millions of plankton drift in our seas and rivers, so small they can\u2019t swim against currents and too small for us to see many of them without microscopes. But they are essential to life on earth: providing half the oxygen we land-dwellers need to breathe.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop will share more plankton facts and look at how we might protect where they live. Imaginative creative writing games will get everyone writing a poem or story they can set in a small concertina booklet.<\/p>\n<p>No knowledge about the sea, writing or bookmaking required to join in and have oceans of fun. Sometimes, grammatical rules cannot accommodate the variety and richness of our multicultural world, and that is why these authors are shamelessly mixing up vocabularies and structures to show complex and unique characters to their readers. They will share their experience of living surrounded by different languages and how this has affected their creative process.
