Funded by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leverhulme.ac.uk\/\">Leverhulme Trust<\/a>\u00a0Research Project Grant (RPG-2015-230), and based at Lancaster University, the project is\u00a0developing new understandings of the literary and cultural geographies of one of Britain\u2019s most significant landscapes: the English Lake District.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The project focuses on a 300-year period between\u00a0the eighteenth and twentieth centuries: a time that witnessed successive social, cultural, economic and industrial revolutions that\u00a0affected\u00a0the landscape of Lakeland region and contributed to its\u00a0multifaceted\u00a0identity. Our research applies\u00a0ground-breaking and exploratory digital methods to the study accounts of the Lakeland region from this long period of history.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As part of the project, we&#8217;ll be running numerous research and public engagement events; please see the link\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/lakesdeepmap\/events\/\">here<\/a> for more information.
