\"\"Dr Lucy Jackson-Jones: Senior Lecturer in Immunology<\/strong>. Lucy studied Immunology at the University of Edinburgh before completing a Wellcome Trust funded 4-year PhD in the Cellular and Molecular Basis of Disease. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2013, her thesis on the Alternative Activation of Dendritic Cells was completed under the supervision of Prof Andrew MacDonald<\/a>. Lucy spent two years at the Institute of Immunology and Infection Research in Edinburgh as a PDRA in the laboratory of Prof Judi Allen<\/a> prior to joining the Centre for Cardiovascular Sciences in 2015 as a PDRA in the laboratory of Dr Cecile Benezech.<\/a> Lucy moved to Lancaster University in Spring 2018 to establish her own group and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2023. Lucy lead’s the Microbes, Pathogens and Immunity research theme and is Deputy Director of Research within the Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences.<\/p>\n

\"DrDr Oliver Mann: NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow. <\/strong>Ollie is an aspiring clinician scientist training in respiratory medicine and experimental biology. His current research focus is fluid-phase pleural immunobiology in malignancy and infection. Ollie studied biochemistry at Manchester before undertaking graduate-entry medicine at Warwick. He then completed the specialised foundation programme in research at Lancaster, and now remains at Lancaster to undertake an NIHR academic clinical fellowship with a CRUK predoctoral bursary.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Zene Wade: NWCR funded PhD Student. <\/strong>Zene will join the group in October 2026, following completion of her MSc in Immunology and Immunotherapy at the University of Birmingham. Zene’s project will investigate the role of CXCL10 in fibre-driven inflammation within the pleural cavity.<\/p>\n

Alexander Wells: MSc by Research Student. <\/strong>Alex will join the group in October 2026, having graduated with a first class degree from Royal Holloway, University of London. Alex received an award for his undergraduate research project. In the JJ-lab, Alex will be working on PROSPECT-Pleura, our human pleural fluid study, where he will focus on investigating the interactions between CD5L, IgM and macrophages within pleural fluid.<\/p>\n
