The Heritage Language 2 Consortium <\/strong>(HL2C), is a strategic partnership between the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cam\u00f5es Institute), and six\u00a0 European universities: Lancaster University in UK, the Universities of Lisbon, Minho, NOVA and Porto in Portugal, and the University of T\u00fcbingen in Germany.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 Consortium has two main objectives.<\/p>\n

The first objective<\/strong> is to promote research on heritage and second language acquisition and teaching. While our primary focus is on Portuguese as a heritage or second language, we welcome colleagues and students whose research focuses on other languages.<\/p>\n

The second objective<\/strong> is to make the results of this research available to the key stakeholders in the language learning process, from pupils, parents and teachers to school administrators and policy makers. For this reason, we regularly organize and participate in outreach events with local communities.<\/p>\n
