Heritage (2015) Disney princesses and the diachronic change of culturally gendered language

Examines the ways in which culturally gendered language and broader gender representations have changed over time, particularly with regard to Disney princesses in three individual films. Compares specific linguistic features across thematically linked scenes in the films. Applies this knowledge to implications for L2 pedagogy. This paper would be useful for those interested in the progression of gendered language representation in animated films over time and how this knowledge can be applied to pedagogic practice.
