{"id":1226,"date":"2016-01-27T16:24:27","date_gmt":"2016-01-27T16:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/envision\/?p=1226"},"modified":"2017-01-11T16:24:57","modified_gmt":"2017-01-11T16:24:57","slug":"envision-r-course-1-5-february-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/envision\/2016\/envision-r-course-1-5-february-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Envision R Course: 1-5 February 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>R4All Course : Lancaster<\/p>\n<p>1 \u2013 5th Feb 2016<\/p>\n<p>The course aims to help you learn aspects of using R for scientific investigation:<\/p>\n<p>1) Data management, exploration, and visualisation<\/p>\n<p>2) Common and not so common statistical methods implemented in R<\/p>\n<p>3) Going from data to publication<\/p>\n<p>The overarching aims are to boost you up the initially steep learning curve associated with R and to provide you with an accurate, repeatable, and efficient quantitative environment for your graduate studies and the rest of your academic career.<\/p>\n<p>STATISTICS PREPARATION: We don\u2019t expect you to know R. However, we do expect that you have a basic understanding of statistics, including for example, how to interpret regression, ANOVA and ANCOVA models. If you\u2019ve forgotten what a t- and F- statistic are, and how to interpret regression coefficients, you should revise your undergraduate statistics course material or consult the Oracle. Please do not ignore this; a bit of revision before the course will go a long way!<\/p>\n<p>What you need:<\/p>\n<p>Something to scribble on and something to scribble with. Your laptop\u2026. This is best.
