The course aims to help you learn aspects of using R for scientific investigation:<\/p>\n
1) Data management, exploration, and visualisation<\/p>\n
2) Common and not so common statistical methods implemented in R<\/p>\n
3) Going from data to publication<\/p>\n
The overarching aims are to boost you up the initially steep learning curve associated with R and to provide you with an accurate, repeatable, and efficient quantitative environment for your graduate studies and the rest of your academic career.<\/p>\n
STATISTICS PREPARATION: We don\u2019t expect you to know R. However, we do expect that you have a basic understanding of statistics, including for example, how to interpret regression, ANOVA and ANCOVA models. If you\u2019ve forgotten what a t- and F- statistic are, and how to interpret regression coefficients, you should revise your undergraduate statistics course material or consult the Oracle. Please do not ignore this; a bit of revision before the course will go a long way!<\/p>\n
What you need:<\/p>\n
Something to scribble on and something to scribble with. Your laptop\u2026. This is best. Discuss with<\/p>\n
your local organiser if this is a problem.<\/p>\n
