\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWe have a range of courses available to cover all aspects of the Research Development Framework<\/a>FST\u2019s Research Training activities for 2019\/20<\/a> can be found hereInformation can also be found on the Graduate School webpages<\/a>Courses are arranged around three key areas of:Managing Your ResearchResearch Skills and TechniquesWriting, Communicating and Networking SkillsThe \u00a0training programme is largely similar to last year, with a coaching element run \u00a0by Will Medd being complimented by generic skills based sessions. A summary of \u00a0each of the training sessions can be found in the document.<\/a>Registrations will be managed using LibCal, and we\u2019ll advertise the sessions to PGRs two weeks before they take place. Where a session requires a one day commitment, we\u2019ll advertise it four weeks before the session takes place. Messages advertising research training sessions will be sent to the student\u2019s Lancaster email address. This message will contain a link to the registration page for a particular session.Induction session:\u00a0We will be holding a university and faculty induction session for PGRs at which we\u2019ll present the programme of research training in more detail. The induction and welcome event will be held on:Wednesday 3rd October, 12:00-15:30, in Faraday Building. <\/a><\/a>Other training on offer across Lancaster:Maths and Stats will continue to offer their programme of short courses during 18\/19, there is now a comprehensive programme of digital skills courses offered by ISS, a number of events organised by the Library and access to research training across Lancaster\u2019s other three faculties (FASS, LUMS and FHM). Please remember to sign up for a session if you would like to attend or otherwise ignore them, even if your record indicates that they may be compulsory. Events you do not attend will be removed from your record as the year progresses.If you sign up for a particular training session we expect you to make every effort to attend. If you are unable to attend, please email scitech.graduate.school@lancaster.ac.uk<\/a> one week before the session takes place. Waiting lists are often in operation for these courses, and if you do not turn up you may deprive another student of the chance to attend.<\/p>\n
