Hi all,
Now we have come to the end of the term with the EiRs and the Summer is here(and hopefully not gone…) we wanted to send a big thankyou to you all for being so helpful and accommodating throughout the year. We have had great feedback from the students on how you are becoming much more accessible and providing valuable help and support to the University.
Here are some facts and figures achieved over the 23 weeks on campus:
• EiRs contributed over 117 hours meeting with students in numerous ways such as one-to-ones, mock interviews, presentations.
• 154 additional hours were spent participating in specific teaching modules, guest lectures, student interaction.
I’m sure you will agree this is an amazing amount of time and effort and very much appreciated. These figures don’t include extra-curricular activity and work with the students which I know many of you do. Please do let us know if you are helping outside of the specific days on campus so we can record this.
I would also like to make you aware of a new EiR website we have been working on which will provide a platform where all the relevant news and features of the EiR programme can be added and viewed and accessed all in one place so do please have a look and bookmark this site. I will post regular updates, photos and feedback so we can all use it regularly and keep in touch. Please take a look:-
We also have all your fantastic videos online and ready to be viewed – I will be sending through a separate link in the next few days for you to have a look at them individually.
Can I also take this opportunity to let you know of some news which some of you may already know. Ian Gordon is sadly leaving us for pastures new on Friday 23rd June. I know that many of you know Ian and if you would like to wish him well, there is a collection in our office (C112) and a card will be available to sign, should you be popping in. I have heard that Ian wants to avoid a big “leaving do” but I will keep you posted of any developments.
Plans are in place for an EiR event on Monday 11th September 2017. Further details will be forwarded over the summer so keep the date free.
Many Thanks again,
