{"id":228,"date":"2020-07-14T10:39:09","date_gmt":"2020-07-14T10:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/doctors-within-borders\/?p=228"},"modified":"2021-01-25T12:50:36","modified_gmt":"2021-01-25T12:50:36","slug":"the-covid-mobilities-collection-covidmobilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/doctors-within-borders\/2020\/07\/14\/the-covid-mobilities-collection-covidmobilities\/","title":{"rendered":"The Covid Mobilities Collection | #covidmobilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Doctors within Borders team have compiled a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1okqC8MZhDfNPYvSh5dTkZE00GE4Du-IstZFDc1ozQ04\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">list<\/a> of resources, commentaries, campaigns and current affairs reporting that analyse and provide insight into the health context of migrants and other mobile communities during the coronavirus crisis, including issues of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>borders<\/li>\n<li>migration<\/li>\n<li>access to healthcare<\/li>\n<li>other forms of (im)mobility and inequalities<\/li>\n<li>and social science responses to the crisis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This came as a response to the disruption caused by the pandemic which lead us to <a href=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/doctors-within-borders\/2020\/05\/04\/covid-19-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cancel<\/a> a workshop and put all other plans on hold. For a project that set out to explore the intersections of public health and human mobility, together with a network of practitioners and researchers, this was somewhat ironic. Indeed, many of the issues discussed in our <a href=\"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/doctors-within-borders\/2020\/01\/27\/healthcare-mobilities-and-national-healthcare-systems-dwb-hosts-first-workshop\/\">first workshop<\/a> have been brought into painfully sharp focus during the early months of the pandemic, attracting more public attention than we might have ever imagined.<\/p>\n<p>So we decided to try to keep track of some of this debate, analysis and advocacy as it emerged. Many &#8216;rapid response&#8217; blogs, forums, statements and resource platforms have been created, and the commentary and analysis continues.<\/p>\n<p>Since it might be useful to others, we decided to make the collection public.
