James Perry

Project: Digital History

James is currently studying his PhD in History at Lancaster with a particular interest in the use of technology in the subject.  His greatest success with technology to date has been combining census and map data of the East End of London to produce a unique micro-level study.

But James’ experience with technology has not always been so impressive, failing to back up files caused taught him a painful lesson during his undergraduate time!

So what does James think about Lancaster?  As far as James is concerned best thing about Lancaster has to be the Lancaster region, from the beautiful landscapes to the historic city.  The only downside is the traffic, you just can’t love that city-centre one-way system!

Claim to Fame: James is supposed to be related to John Boot, the founder of Boots the chemist.
