Alicia Hughes-White is currently in her third year of her MLANG degree within the Department of Languages and Cultures, studying French and Italian. She completed her year abroad in Poitiers, France last year and is looking forward to starting her Masters year in September.
During her time at Lancaster, Alicia has learnt to be very organised as she finds it hard not to take advantage of all the opportunities that are available at university. Her event management, leadership and teamwork skills have all been built on through various part-time jobs, exec positions and active roles within societies, but she is looking to develop her technological skills through this project.
The French Culture in the Digital Age module that she completed opened her eyes to the wonders of modern technology. As part of this module, she created a website and looked at the effects that modern technology is having on today’s society. Current university students are now ‘digital natives’, which inspired the creation of a project to teach students about how to use their digital knowledge in their studies to the best of their ability.
Alicia is eager to learn how to use new software such as Xerte and Qualtrics and collaborate with the library and ISS to create a useful learning tool for her fellow students.
