{"id":25,"date":"2013-07-18T17:59:17","date_gmt":"2013-07-18T16:59:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/creme\/?p=25"},"modified":"2013-09-27T11:15:59","modified_gmt":"2013-09-27T10:15:59","slug":"pumfrey-and-gregory-speak-at-ucrelcasserc-summer-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/creme\/pumfrey-and-gregory-speak-at-ucrelcasserc-summer-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Pumfrey and Gregory speak at UCREL\/CASS\/ERC Summer School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two members of CREME have given talks at\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333;font-style: normal;line-height: 24px\">the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ucrel.lancs.ac.uk\/summerschool\">Lancaster Summer Schools in Interdisciplinary Digital Methods<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/fass\/history\/profiles\/stephen-pumfrey\">Stephen Pumfrey<\/a> gave a plenary address today, talking about his corpus-based research using the <a href=\"http:\/\/eebo.chadwyck.com\/home\u200e\">Early English Books Online<\/a> resource.<\/p>\n<p>Also, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/fass\/history\/profiles\/ian-gregory\">Ian Gregory<\/a> gave a plenary talk earlier in the week about the use of corpus data in Geographical Information Systems.<\/p>\n<p>The summer school event rolls together three separate courses for PhD students and junior researchers in linguistics and other humanities\/social science subjects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The UCREL Summer School in Corpus Linguistics<\/li>\n<li>The ESRC Summer School in Corpus Approaches to Social Science<\/li>\n<li>The ERC Summer School in GIS for the Digital Humanities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All three are linked by the central theme of corpus-based methods.
