The Financial Narrative Processing (FNP) Workshop Series<\/span><\/p>\n

As financial markets become increasingly data-driven, the role of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and AI<\/strong> in analysing financial narratives has never been more critical. In recent years, small-scale manual research in Accounting and Finance<\/strong> has been significantly enhanced and scaled up using these advanced computational techniques.<\/p>\n

For over five years, FNP has been at the forefront of Financial NLP<\/strong>, hosting six+ international events<\/strong>, introducing NLP and AI shared tasks<\/strong>, and providing essential datasets and methodologies<\/strong> that drive innovation in this growing field. Our workshops have brought together researchers and practitioners to explore cutting-edge approaches for extracting, summarising, and analysing both qualitative and quantitative financial data.<\/p>\n

Topics of Interest in Financial NLP<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We invite research that applies state-of-the-art NLP techniques<\/strong> to financial narratives, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n

\u2705 Core NLP Tasks:<\/strong> Tokenisation, morphological analysis, part-of-speech tagging, named entity recognition, chunking, parsing, and semantic role labelling.
\u2705 Financial Sentiment & Readability:<\/strong> Sentiment analysis, document quality assessment, and advanced readability metrics for financial texts.
\u2705 AI & Ethics in Finance:<\/strong> NLP-driven research on gender and ethnicity imbalances<\/strong>, as well as studies addressing mental health and well-being<\/strong> in financial reporting.
\u2705 Under-Resourced Languages & Markets:<\/strong> Encouraging research on financial narratives in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese<\/strong>, and other underrepresented financial markets.
\u2705 Financial Summarisation:<\/strong> In collaboration with MultiLing<\/a><\/strong>, we explore multi-document summarisation, headline generation, and cross-lingual summarisation<\/strong> across financial domains (e.g., company blogs, product reviews, market briefs).
\u2705 Regulatory & Multilingual Research:<\/strong> Given the global nature of finance, we welcome studies that examine different regulatory regimes<\/strong> and multilingual financial narratives<\/strong> beyond English.<\/p>\n
