ACTUATE held a community durbar in Madina Zongo, Accra on 14 October to introduce the project to the community and raise awareness of the positive impacts of a circular economy. The durbar was led by HATOF Foundation with the support of CSIR-IIR, GreenAd and Umar Bun Hatab Islamic School.<\/p>\n

The durbar welcomed key members of the community including the Paramount Chief of Madina, Ali Dada Abudulai Dagadu; Chief Imam of Madina Zongo, Sheik Salman Mohammed Alhassan; and the Proprietor of the school, Sheik Tahir. Local women groups and youth groups were present to discuss the project. In addition, the Member of Parliament for Madina, Mr Boniface Abu-bakar Sadique, joined the event to express his support for the demonstrator project that is based at Umar Bun Hatab Islamic School.<\/p>\n

The project was well received by the community and the community leaders have pledged to offer their support towards the sustainability of the demonstrator site.<\/p>\n
